Issue in using BYOK with Remic

When we activate the API keys, in the dropdown of the chat node along with Remic, we can see the models corresponding to that particular API key. However, with the API keys activated, I tried to select Remic for one of my chats. Although it was getting selected, the pop‑up while selecting it says that my API keys will be used and no coins will be used when using even Remic. So I thought maybe when API keys are activated, Remic stops working.

I switched off all my API keys, went back to the chat node, and saw all the models corresponding to API keys still present in the dropdown along with Remic. Now, if I choose any of the non‑Remic models, they obviously don’t generate any response and ask me to activate the API key. But I still cannot use even Remic. In short, I’m now in a situation where I can’t use my coins at all. I’m sure this is a bug, and I request you to please look into it.

Also, please explain what your design is exactly? Can I activate my API keys and at the same time be able to choose Remic in a particular chat node, without using models associated with my API keys? Can they both work together, or are they exclusive to each other? That is, if I activate any API keys, then Remake cannot be used at all ?

    I’ve rolled out the fix for you:

    • Remic uses Remalt coins.

    • BYOK models only show/use your key when that provider key is enabled.

    • Disabling a key returns routing back to Remalt coins in normal mode.

    • The chat model dropdown refreshes after key changes.

    Hi Akhilesh, thanks for the detailed report. You were right, this was a bug.

    The intended design is: you can keep API keys enabled and still choose Remic on any chat node. Remic should use Remalt coins, while BYOK models should use your own API key and not use coins. They are not meant to be mutually exclusive.

    We are working on a fix and revert back in a few hours ^^
